At the heart of everything we do is our commitment to supporting the community.
The protection of our oceans and coastline is at the core of our mission. With over eight million metric tons of plastic ending up in our oceans each year, we are deeply committed to doing our part to safeguard our planet. We are continually evolving our company to operate as sustainably as possible, and we aim to inspire our customers to join us in this endeavour.
We have taken significant steps to reduce our environmental footprint. Our packaging is now entirely plastic-free, featuring custom-made cardboard packaging and paper tape. Our cork closures are plastic-free, and our bottles are fully recyclable. We encourage you to upcycle our bottles, giving them a new purpose and reducing waste.
Whenever possible, we source our materials locally. Our print materials, ingredients, grain spirit, and our glass bottle are proudly come from Yorkshire. By working closely with local suppliers, we keep our supply chain short and nurture lasting relationships. Supporting our local community is not just a goal; it's a commitment we uphold every day.
At Whitby Distillery, we're dedicated to minimizing waste and maximizing your rewards. If you've enjoyed one of our Whitby Gin or Rum bottles and it's now empty, simply return it to our distillery at 8 Botany Way, Whitby. As a token of our appreciation, we'll gladly offer you a 10% discounton your next order. Join us in our commitment to sustainability and enjoy the benefits of a greener, tastier future.
We take recycling to the next level by re-using our used botanicals. In our new premises at Abbey Lands Farm, we have plans to repurpose these used ingredients into biofuel to power our distillery, reducing our environmental impact even further.
Stay tuned for exciting projects on the horizon, including our Juniper conservation initiative and efforts to protect our beautiful coastline and support bee conservation.
At Whitby Distillery, our commitment to sustainability isn't just a pledge; it's a way of life. Thank you for joining us on this important journey toward a greener and more responsible future.
